May was a busy month for us here at Dragonfly Floral! Our Open House, Mother's Day, an Open House at Arista Winery, an event at the Academy of Sciences, a number of weddings, local deliveries and the season is just getting started. At Dragonfly Floral we had a surprisingly busy Mother's Day. We had four small weddings and dozens of last minute Mother's Day delivery orders. We are blessed by a wonderful and flexible design team, who took each additional order in stride and turned out exceptional arrangements! Thank you Pam and Debbie!!
We are excited to debut our new succulent gardens this weekend at our Open House, Saturday May1st, 1:00-5:00pm. We have been madly making hypertufa pots (a mixture of cement, peat moss and perlite). They give the look of stone or cement, but with a fraction of the weight. It is a lengthy process, it takes about a month, start to finish. Mother's Day is rapidly approaching! (It's Sunday May 9th)
With the garden bursting into bloom we have been making some especailly lovely arrangements. You can order yours online now or give us a call 707.433.3739. Here are some of the delivery arrangements from this week. We've had a fun week! Sunday we had a lovely group of ladies for Floral Design: The Basics. We had a wonderful walk through the garden to talk about all of the different plant materials that one may not think to use in an arrangement. We talked about the ways to successfully process flowers for longevity and then everyone did beautiful arrangements. Tuesday we did the flowers for and attended the Sustainable Business Practices event hosted by ISES at Iron Horse Vineyards And the rest of the week Bonnie did delivery arrangements.
Every week at Dragonfly Floral we get excited about a different plant material. This week we've been especially fond of the budding mulberry. It is structurally interesting and it has those fun green buds. Give us a call 707.433.3739 or email us if you'd like us to pick some for you. If you look closely you'll notice the mulberry used in some of these delivery arrangements. Try our new online order form |
